Born into a family of musicians in Russia, Andrey Baranov began violin studies at the age of six. He graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory (Vladimir Ovcharek’s class) in 2004 and continued his studies in Pavel Popov’s class at the St. Petersburg Conservatory before coming to the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne (HEMU) to study with Pierre Amoyal.

He has participated at many international masterclasses (Holland Music Sessions, Marktoberdorf Academy, Lausanne Music Academy, Salzburg’s Summer Academy…)

Andrey Baranov appears as a soloist with eminent orchestras such as the Luxemburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra, the Belgium National Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra and the SWR Radio Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart under the direction of conductors such as Michel Tabachnik, Walter Weller, Emmanuel Krivine, Teodor Currentzis, Vasily Petrenko, Nikolai Alekseev and Kazufumi Yamashita.
