Young Italian pianist born in Noto Sicily, Irene Puccia obtains her piano diploma with high honours at Il Conservatorio di Bologna, Italy, at 17 years old. She then pursues her studies at the Haute Ecole de Musique in Lausanne, Switzerland, where she obtains, in June 2010, her master’s degree in accompaniment with first class honours.

Concurrently with her academic training, she had the opportunity to work with Paul Badura-Skoda, Dario De Rosa, Pier Narciso Masi, Andrzej Jasinskij, Marc Pantillon, Todd Camburn, Pierre Goy and Jean Jacques Balet.

During her musical path, Irene Puccia received several prizes from international competitions and had the opportunity to perform in many concert halls. She played in festivals such as the Seilerklavierfestival in Kitzingen Germany and was invited as soloist by different orchestras such as the Orchestra of Il Conservatorio di Bologna, the Orchestra of Il Theatro Rossini in Lugo and the Orchestra d’Adria. She also performed with Orchestra Mozart conducted by Claudio Abbado.

In 2008, she decides to dedicate herself more specifically to chamber music, accompaniment and contemporary music, without forgetting the baroque repertoire that she particularly appreciates.

During the summer 2010, she worked as coach in a production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni conducted by Ivan Törzs.

In addition, she is an active member of Fontana Mix Ensemble conducted by Francesco La Licata with whom she deepens her knowledge of modern and contemporary repertoire. In the same field, she has the opportunity to work with several renowned living composers such as Gyorgij Kurtag, Adriano Guarnieri, Paolo Perezzani and William Blank.

Today, Irene Puccia works as an accompanist at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne while continuing her studies in chamber music in the Haute Ecole de Musique in Geneva.
