Anna Vasilyeva

Born in St. Petersburg in 1986, Anna Vasilyeva began studying the violin at the age of four. She studied with Lev Ivaschenko and then Vladimir Ovcharek at the Conservatory in her hometown. She then continued her studies with Thomas Füri at the Music Academy in Basel and earned a Master in Violin in Pierre Amoyal’s class at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne (HEMU).

Anna Vasilyeva has participated in masterclasses organized by the Gustav Mahler Foundation in Bolzano and won the first prize at the International Glazunov Competition in 2003.

Anna Vasilyeva has played for various orchestras including the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra and the Verbier Festival Orchestra. She has appeared as a soloist with the Basel Symphony Orchestra and with various orchestras in St. Petersburg.
